E.A.T Marketplace

On the north side of the Old Town, just inside the archway, E.A.T. Marketplace is a gourmet coffee shop serving healthful toasts and bowls along with fluffy stacks of pancakes. Their tempting bakery display has gluten-free and vegan options. Everything is made to order, so food can take a little time, but it’s always worth the wait. 28410 Old Town Front St. Temecula, CA 92590

Le Coffee Shop

Le Coffee Shop is a tiny café on 4th Street owned by a couple from Provence, serving sweet and savory French fare like mini quiches, French tarts, croissants and croissant sandwiches. There are also heartier items like waffles, pancakes, and acai bowls. Seating is mostly outside, but at the moment, they are using the adjacent Le Bistro, home of their future restaurant, for guests who wish to eat inside.  41955 4th St, Temecula, CA 92590

Havana Kitchen

Havana Kitchen is owned by a 2nd generation Cuban family, and the food is inspired by their grandmother’s cooking. You’ll find sweet and savory cuban pastries, egg scrambles, Cubano sandwiches, and egg, rice, and bean bowls with several options for toppings. There are plenty of tables and chairs inside, but go early on the weekend to secure one. 41955 5th St #101, Temecula, CA 92590

Serving locals since the 1920s, Swing Inn Cafe is an old school diner and Temecula mainstay, currently owned by Dean Norris from “Breaking Bad” who has brought it new life. They have a menu of eggs and omelet dishes, waffles, French toast, and pancake plates, and several “Bennies” options. Specialties include a Monte Cristo and Chorizo and Eggs. They don’t take reservations, and have long waits on the weekends so go early. 28676 Old Town Front St, Temecula, CA 92590

The Gambling Cowboy

The Gambling Cowboy is a steakhouse with an indulgent brunch menu that includes all things steak and short rib: Short Rib Hash Skillet, Country Fried Ribeye, and Short Rib Benedict all made from high-quality, corn-fed beef. As the name implies, the dining room is over-the-top cowboy and southwest-themed. We love sitting the outdoor balcony with views of Front Street and the mountains. Reservations available on Open Table. 42072 5th St, Temecula, CA 92590

The bar at Blackbird Tavern

Blackbird Tavern

Blackbird Tavern is converted old farmhouse with a giant chalk drawing of mustachioed skull and blackbird above the bar. It’s an informal pub with indoor bar area and outdoor seating at long picnic tables. The eclectic brunch menu includes Chicken & Waffles and Huevos Rancheros, but also Spinach and Apple Salad and Korean Style Potstickers. Food is not always beautifully plated, but it’s always delicious, and a great place to bring your family, a group, or even your dog. Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations on Open Table. 41958 5th Street, Temecula, CA 92590

Small Barn

Small Barn is a converted farmhouse serving upscale fare. There’s a relaxed, elegant outdoor patio set with sofas, lounge chairs, fire pits, and twinkly lights. The menu changes regularly. The menu is well-rounded so there will also be crowd-pleasers like Steak and Eggs, their excellent Barn Burger, and Eggs Benedict. Brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Corbeaux Wine & Tea House

Old Town’s most elegant establishment, Corbeaux, has an ever-evolving menu of French-Asian fusion plates. The brunch menu has included items like French custard pancakes, vegetable quiche, and short rib + eggs. The star of the show is their afternoon tea offering with homemade tiers of tiny sandwiches and pastries, plus your choice of tea. 41923 2nd St suite 105, Temecula, CA 92590

1909

The brunch menu at 1909 is a decadent affair. The wide-ranging menu includes Oysters, Fried Deviled Eggs, Whipped Espresso French Toast, and Bananas Foster French Toast. If you try hard enough, you’ll also find a few salads tucked down at the bottom of the page. This always-busy restaurant/bar is very laid back; metal high-top tables and benches line the bar and outdoor patio. Their K-9 menu makes it another great place to bring your pooch. They don’t take reservations, so arrive early to put your name down, then take a stroll around the nearby shops as you wait for your table. Bottega Italia

Bottega Italia is a favorite of ours for dinner, but they also have a terrific brunch menu designed to make everyone happy. Try their “Brighten My Day” for a bowl filled with green yogurt, homemade granola, lemon curd and fresh fruit. For a more Italian-style morning, try their Pizza Calabrese with organic eggs and spicy salami. The indoor dining room is styled like an Italian cafe, with bistro tables, tiled floor, and gelato counter. There’s also a large outdoor patio. Reservations can be made online, but it’s usually just fine to walk in. 28475 Old Town Front St, Temecula, CA 92590

The pink walls are adorned with botanicals and mirrors, brass fixtures hang over the bars, and velvet sofas and marble tabletops fill the dining room. The menu is another one designed to please crowds with hash brown and egg filled skillets, crepes, pancakes, chicken and waffles, and “South of the Border” specialties. Weekend mornings get busy of course, so get on their online waitlist before you venture into town. 28693 Old Town Front St #101, Temecula, CA 92590

Not to be confused with Baily Winery, Baily’s in Old Town is a two-story restaurant with a large outdoor patio on the south end of Front Street. They usually have live music on the weekends.
