Pechanga Resort Casino, as the name implies, is much more than a casino floor. The entire operation is significantly grander and more upscale than one might expect for a casino neighboring a small town like Temecula. You’ll find world-class dining, a luxury spa, a resort pool with waterslides, an award-winning golf course, and entertainment venues that host huge names like Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, and Aziz Ansari.
The complex sits in front of the rolling Temecula foothills on land belonging to the Pechanga Band of Indians, who have called this region their home for thousands of years. Guests can visit the hotel lobby to see cultural artifacts or attend an event like the annual Pechanga Pow Wow, that takes place every January, to get to know their traditions.

Casino and Hotel
Pechanga is big. It’s the largest resort casino on the West Coast, though not nearly as large as the Vegas behemoths. The casino is a 24-hour hub of gaming: endless varieties of slot machines, high-limit rooms, dedicated Asian games, tons of table games, and a lively sportsbook lounge. Compared to Vegas, Pechanga’s gaming floor feels ever so slightly more spacious and less crowded. Still, on Friday and Saturday evenings, the casino and casino bars will be humming with guests.

The modern guest rooms have an inviting feel. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook mountains, pool decks, or casino rooftops. The hotel tower is on the opposite side of the resort from the casino, and elevators require a card key to access. This, and the neutral tones and spa-quality bathrooms, help it feel more like a resort stay than a casino tower. Especially if you opt for a room with a view.
Spa Pechanga and The Cove
Spa Pechanga is upscale, gorgeous, and surprisingly tranquil given what’s happening just steps away at the casino. Everything seems on a grand scale, from the long hallway that leads to the indoor whirlpool to the spiral staircase and dramatic chandeliers just adjacent to the upstairs lounge.
There are sauna and spa pool amenities, indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces, and treatments blending classic luxury options like hydrafacials and hot stone massage with indigenous botanicals and Pechanga-inspired rituals. Wellness shots (green juices) are offered to guests at regularly scheduled intervals. It’s one of the resort’s strongest assets if you’re seeking a reset, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. The spa is well set up to accommodate solo visitors and small groups of 3 or 4 guests.

In warm weather, The Cove pool becomes its own scene. There are four pools, a swim-up bar, a long row of cabanas, and huge waterslides in the family-friendly area, including dual twisting drop slides that adults ride proudly. There are also large lounge areas with TV’s so you won’t miss your team play if you’re hanging poolside.
Dining at Pechanga
Dining is one of Pechanga’s biggest strengths. The staff includes several executive chefs that expertly run their restaurants and several food-focused events held throughout the year like their Sushi & Sake Festival, Taco & Tequila Festival, and hamburger competition.
There are 14 food and drink options at the casino. Below are our top picks. Reservations are recommended for all, especially on the weekends.

Umi Sushi & Oyster Bar is outstanding, with easily the best fish in Temecula. They serve ultra-fresh sashimi, specialty rolls, and chilled seafood platters all beautifully plated. There are a few hot items like grilled prawns, beef skewers, and pork udon, but as you might expect, the menu is focused around fish and seafood. The dining room has an elegant feel, but there’s also bar seating with TVs airing the latest game for a more casual evening. The restaurant opens out onto the casino floor which makes for a lively atmosphere. If noise is a concern, ask for a table at the back of the restaurant.

For a special occasion dinner, visit the newly redesigned Great Oak Steakhouse — Pechanga’s flagship fine dining experience, which rivals the top steakhouses in Southern California. You’re there for prime dry-aged cuts, top-tier Wagyu, tableside Caesar service, and an award-winning wine list. The filet and bone-in ribeye are exceptional, and seafood lovers swear by the Chilean sea bass. The dining room is closed off from the casino, so it becomes a world of its own. The service here is excellent as well. We visited recently for a birthday celebration, and the gentleman celebrating was treated like a king.

For a more casual dinner, try 1882 Cantina. This is hotel lobby dining, perfect for people-watching or if you have tickets to a show in the ballroom. They serve up super flavorful Mexican fare like elevated street taco flights, perfectly cooked carne asada, homemade tortillas, and delicious shareables. Plus, they make a seriously good Margarita and have a cocktail list dedicated to the drink.

Kelsey’s is a popular cocktail spot and restaurant just off the casino floor. Think elevated sports bar vibes with polished craft drinks, whiskey flights, and a solid burger offering. The Round Bar on the casino floor is another signature watering hole — you can’t miss it at the center of the action.
Golf at Pechanga

If golf is part of your vacation plan, Pechanga has a championship course that winds through ravines, elevation drops, and has panoramic mountain views. It’s visually dramatic, technically challenging, and ranked among California’s best public-access courses according to GolfPass. Even if you’re not playing, the clubhouse patio is one of the most beautiful places on the property to have brunch or grab a drink. At a 20-minute drive to wine country, Pechanga is an ideal place to stay for your wine and golf getaway.
