A great way to get to know a town is by visiting its local merchants — specialty shops you won’t find anywhere else. A small town rich in history and entrepreneurial culture, Temecula has a wealth of one-of-a-kind boutiques. On this page, you’ll find meticulously styled home decor shops, locally made olive oil blends, and lavender-based products, along with fine art from Native American artists and clothing that will send you off to wine country in style.
FOOD GIFTS
Temecula Olive Oil Company
At Temecula Olive Oil Company in Old Town, the family-owned and operated Temecula Olive Oil Company offers seasonal creations produced at their Olive View Ranch in nearby Aguanga; they are purveyors of small-batch extra virgin olive oils, balsamic vinegars, olive wood kitchen wares, and other gourmet food items. Old Town Spice and Tea Merchants
If you’ve dined out around town, chances are good you’ve tried something from Old Town Spice & Tea Merchants. And not just for their tea. Bars around town use their spice blends in cocktails, bakeries top their bagels with their seeds, and restaurants use their spices in favorite recipes. Stop in to take in the scents and take home your own blend along with one of their teapots, cups, and accessories.
This block along 5th Street has become one of my favorite corners of Temecula, with fabulous spots neighboring the spice shop like Blackbird Tavern, Two Travelers Wine Bar, La Fata Cellars, and The Barn Yard (see below). 41925 Fifth St. #101 Temecula, CA 92590
HOME AND BATH
Citrus and Moss
A well-curated boutique of clothing, home goods, gifts, and jewelry selling unique items alongside familiar names like Brighton, Citrus and Moss sits near the entrance to Old Town. The shop is styled for each season, so your experience there will look quite different with each visit. In the fall, you’ll find adorable pumpkin-themed items from table decor to cocktail mixers, and in the spring, the store comes to life with bunnies, chicks, and bowls for Easter goodies. Temecula Lavender Co.
Temecula Lavender Company sells goods produced on local entrepreneur Jan Schneider’s lavender farm out in wine country. I buy bundles of dried lavender from the shop for my kitchen table and guest bath, and I love to gift their natural, small-batch bath products whenever I am a houseguest. 28561 Old Town Front Street. Ford & Elm
This elegant interior decorating shop is in the Chaparral Building in Old Town and full of unique “California Casual” style home decor, kitchen items, and made-to-order furniture from Lee Industries. The kind of pieces that make a house a home with a cozy and nostalgic sensibility, like a gorgeous brass pepper grinder, beautifully textured pillows, unique clay pottery, and country-style table linens. Au Savon de Provence
A French couple who moved to Temecula from Marseille, Lydia and François-Xavier, sell a collection of luxurious, authentic Marseille soaps, salts, laundry care, and candles at their Old Town Shop, Au Savon de Provence. The Painted Garden
Their colorful collection of garden art and succulents will leap out at you as you make your way down Front Street. Take a stroll through the menagerie to see all the fun creatures and botanicals their clever artisans have created. 28659-B Old Town Front St, Temecula, CA 92590
The Barn Yard
Unique, “previously loved” finds for your garden or home adorn the area outside this shop. Enter through the gate, then stroll around the side of the building and around to the back. SHOES AND CLOTHING
Rivers and Roads & Under the Willow
An attractive outfit selling contemporary men’s and women’s shoes and clothing with a Western bent. Try on one of their woolen capes and you’ll feel right at home during a fall visit to the vineyards. Their sister property across the street, Under the Willow, sells adorable clothing, boots, and hats. Taos Territorial Traders

Vail Ranch Headquarters
Finally, Vail Headquarters is a “living historic park” and the former headquarters of a once 80,000-acre cattle ranch. Today, the historic buildings, nestled between a series of big box stores, are home to shops, restaurants, and more, including a Farmer’s Market every Tuesday morning. Really, one could spend an entire afternoon at Vail HQ. Have lunch at The Local Provisions then grab a coffee at The Press Espresso and browse shops like Ember and Alder, a hand-made candle and gift shop. You might also take a paint and sip class at The Craft House. When you’re done browsing, stroll over to the Marshall Stuart tasting room to sample from one of Temecula’s top winemakers or visit the Daisy Bar inside the Cook House food hall for a handmade cocktail. 2127C Temecula Pkwy, Temecula, CA 92592
