Craving caffeine before heading into wine country? Maybe you need a jolt before getting on the road back home. Of course, Temecula has Starbucks all over town, but I suggest trying one of our local shops for a better cup of joe in a much prettier setting. From an organic marketplace on Front Street, to a Barbie pink matcha shop in Old Town, to a family-run boba place near wine country, we’ve got a rundown of some of the best coffee and tea spots in town. If You’re Coming From the De Portola Wine Trail

These coffee and tea shops are all along Temecula Parkway (Highway 79), so if you’ve been tasting along the De Portola Trail, these are all close options for you.

The Press Espresso at Vail Ranch Headquarters

The Press Espresso serves creative coffee drinks like Horchata, lavender Lattes, and Vanilla Mint Cold Brew, as well as baked goods, in historic Vail Ranch HQ. You can also visit the Marshall Stuart tasting room, a new local favorite, or Local Provisions for a bite to eat. 32115 Temecula Pkwy, Temecula, CA 92592

Better Buzz Temecula

This one isn’t a purely local operation, but it originated in nearby San Diego, and we love this spot for its iced coffee drinks, pretty cafe, and drive-through option. 32435 Temecula Pkwy, Temecula, CA 92592

Mama’s Haus Tea & Boba

A family-run business serving Vietnamese coffee or tea, Mama’s is a must for boba lovers. The drinks are always creative and refreshing, and they’re the closest option on this list to wine country. They have pre-designed drinks like a Taru Milk Tea, Honey Milk Tea, or Strawberry Cheesecake to name just a few, or you can build your own drink from a variety of flavors and toppings. 43810 Butterfield Stage Rd #103, Temecula, CA 92592

If You’re In or Near Old Town

If you’re staying on the west side of town or spending time in Old Town, you have many options for unique coffee and tea creations. These spots top our list.

The Crafted Scone

The Crafted Scone

This small business started in nearby Murrieta but has been so popular that they now have two spots in Temecula. Along with their seasonal menu of lattes, they have an extensive collection of scones — Vanilla Bean, Lemon Lavender, Almond Coconut, and more — hand-crafted sodas, toasts, and even scone sandwiches that come in a mix of sweet and savory options. The welcoming Old Town location is designed like a tea shop with floral wallpaper, a fireplace, and cafe tables and chairs. 28459 Old Town Front St STE 115, Temecula, CA 92590

E.A.T.  Marketplace

E.A.T. Marketplace, a local gem, sources ingredients from organic farms and ranches and strives to create food and drinks to suit all dietary needs. Their coffee drinks can be made with a variety of cow or dairy-free milks, and they offer “Damn Good” gluten-free and paleo treats at their gorgeous pastry counter. To my fellow Los Angelenos, this place reminds me of a smaller Joans on Third, fresh and fantastic food, but without the huge crowds.  28410 Old Town Front St, Temecula, CA 92590

Find fresh croissants, sweet crepes, or mini savory quiches to go with your perfectly crafted latte. Don’t be scared off if you see a line out the door. The order counter is only two steps inside. 41955 4th St, Temecula, CA 92590

Our Matcha Place

Pretty in pink, this adorable, family-run spot makes matcha and coffee creations that are as beautiful as they are delicious. On a hot day, try the lavender iced matcha latte. Sipping on one of those was my most happy moment on a recent way-too-hot Saturday. 42072 5th St STE 105. (Below The Gambling Cowboy)
