Halter Ranch Temecula

About Halter Ranch WINERY

Halter Ranch, a popular Paso Robles winery, opened a Temecula tasting room just a few years ago, where they pour lovely wines made from both local and Paso Robles-grown grapes.

The Temecula fruit is driven up to Paso, where Halter’s winemaking team creates their Temecula Chaparral Blend (a GSM), Place in the Sun (a Bordeaux blend), and Volcanic Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon.

Wine tastings in Temecula are walk-in, and there are two menus to choose from. A standard tasting for $35, which includes a lovely, soft Sauvignon Blanc and that terrific Chaparral Blend, or a reserve tasting for $50, which includes Halter’s Ancestor, their signature wine. Whichever tasting you choose, the Ancestor is a must-try. It’s a lingering, bold blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Malbec with flavors of blueberry and blackberry. A little chocolate too. It’s delicious.

Guests can take their glass from the bar to the patio to appreciate the gorgeous view. Outdoor lounge furniture and crisp, white bistro tables line a walkway which overlooks the vineyard. For those who prefer table service, there is an indoor seating lounge, but there is no vineyard view from there.

Tasting fees are waived with the purchase of two bottles. A rare find in Temecula, and it’s very easy to find two fantastic bottles at Halter Ranch.
