About Altisima

Altisima Winery is the result of a group of friends who pooled their resources to create a showpiece winery in Temecula. It opened in 2021, and almost immediately became a local favorite. The winery is set high up on a hill along the De Portola Trail, with gorgeous views of vineyards, neighboring wineries, and valley hills. The attractive, equestrian-themed tasting room has soaring ceilings and there is a large outdoor lounge area where guests can take their glasses to enjoy the views. There is a separate member lounge that takes over the majority of the second floor with fireplace, TVs, and private balcony seating.

Though the winemakers Chris Johnson and Marshall Stuart were initially focused on Spanish varieties, they have since expanded their tasting menu to include a Meritage and Cabernet Sauvignon on the red side, and Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay on the white side. They also have very nice sparkling brut and rosé from grapes grown and bottled in Napa Valley.

Gaspar’s Restaurant

A main attraction at Altisima, other than the views, is Gaspar’s restaurant. It’s an indoor/outdoor dining venue with a Spanish influenced menu, with items like empanadas, Basque-style braised short rib, seared seabass, patatas bravas, and Catalan-style shrimp. In addition to the wine list, you’ll also find sangria, wine cocktails, beer, and soft drinks.
