Dining options abound in Temecula wine country. Across the valley, you’ll find elegant dining rooms, gourmet food trucks, and even a wine cave where you can enjoy a full-service meal. But there’s something magical about dining with a view of the vineyards and valley hills. Below are our top picks for winery restaurants with enticing menus and gorgeous views.

1 | Gaspar’s at Altisima Winery

Diners at Gaspar’s, the mostly outdoor restaurant at Altisima Winery, are treated to Spanish-inspired fare with a backdrop of the Temecula Valley hills

Out on the large, elegantly appointed covered patio, start your lunch with shareable items like the fried calamari or empanadas. There are several sandwich, burger, and salad options, and entrees that include steak frites, a seafood pasta, and salmon with a mojo verde sauce. The Catalan shrimp is another standout that can serve as a shareable or main course.

Gaspar’s primarily serves lunch, but occasionally extends its hours into the evening, so check their social media for the latest updates. Parties of 8 or more require a reservation. 37440 De Portola Rd, Temecula, CA 92592

2 | Mama Rosa’s Trattoria

Mama Rosa’s Trattoria at Robert Renzoni Vineyards is not a full-service restaurant, but it deserves a spot on this list for its rustic Italian menu and almost 360° views. A host will guide you to your table, where you and your party negotiate over brick oven pizzas (try Julie’s Favorite), enormous salads, pasta, and appetizers like Roman artichokes, meatballs in marinara, and bruschetta with prosciutto. Head to the bar to place your order, and your selections will be brought to you when ready. The menu suggests wine pairings for each item. They also serve beer and nonalcoholic beverages —open daily, 21 and over on the weekends. Reservations recommended. 37350 De Portola Road, Temecula, CA 92592

3 | Miramonte Winery’s Bistro

Perched high on a hill, Miramonte Winery’s casual outdoor bistro overlooks Rancho California Road and the surrounding vineyards belonging to neighboring homes and wineries.

The menu includes fun shareables, like the Mediterranean Nachos pictured above, and mushrooms stuffed with goat cheese, asiago, and mozzarella. The menu is a mix of classic wine country fare with salads, flatbreads, and hand-helds. Opt for a glass of crisp Albariño or Verdelho if you prefer a dry white, or try the Opulente or Estate Syrah for a more robust red to accompany your meal. Miramonte Winery’s bistro opens daily at 11 am. 33410 Rancho California Rd, Temecula, CA 92591

4 | Pinnacle at Falkner Winery

Pinnacle Restaurant at Falkner Winery

On a day when you’d prefer to be inside, Pinnacle Restaurant at Falkner Winery is the perfect spot to be as the only wholly indoor full-service winery restaurant with a view. And what a view it is. The restaurant sits at the top of a 1,500-foot valley hill and has almost floor-to-ceiling windows along the length of the dining room. The chef makes exceptional Mediterranean-inspired entrees like Grilled Octopus and Chicken with Wild Mushroom Risotto, which helped the restaurant win the “Best Restaurant of 2024″ award from Inland Empire Magazine. You’ll also find entree salads and sandwiches like the Crab Cake with Avocado and Tomato Remoulade (pictured) and Ray’s Famous Black Angus Burger. Pinnacle is open daily for lunch. 40620 Calle Contento, Temecula, CA 92591

5 | Meritage at Callaway Winery

Meritage Restaurant at Callaway Winery sits behind the tasting room and looks out on vines as far as the eye can see. There is a greenhouse and garden next door where they source ingredients for their menu, which includes an eclectic mix of tapas items like the heirloom tomato and burrata salad (pictured above), shrimp in a garlic butter sauce, and bison meatball and entrees like Chicken Parmesan, Smoked Pork Torta, Flat Iron Steak, and Pan Seared Seabass. Sunday Brunch includes classic offerings like Steak & Eggs, Ham & Cheese Omelet, and a Croque Madame or Monsieur and Brioche French Toast.

Things to know: The restaurant seating is on a tiered covered patio with a partial glass wall that protects guests from wind and rain, but the wall can also block breezes, so it can feel stuffy on very hot days. Callaway has started weekend lunch service out on the winery patio, so it’s worth asking about that option on a nice day.

Lunch: Wednesday – Saturday
Brunch: Sunday
Dinner: Friday – Sunday

The members’ patio at Leoness Cellars is open to the public Monday through Thursday for lunch.

One of our top picks for lunch in wine country is at Leoness Cellars. While the main restaurant does not have a view, the member patio has one of our favorite views in the valley and is open to the public for lunch Monday through Thursday. 38311 De Portola Road, Temecula, CA 92592
