Friday ITINERARY

  • An outdoor restaurant with marble-top tables.

Afternoon at Altisima Winery

Begin your journey at Altisima Winery, recently voted winery of the year by our local tourism board, for lunch with a view. The winery restaurant, Gaspar’s, serves a mix of flavorful Spanish-inspired fare like crisp empanadas, patatas bravas, and steak frites with chimichurri. Sip on a wine cocktail or sample one of their Spanish varieties while you gaze out at the surrounding hilltops.

A pan of paella on an outdoor table.

Shopping and Dinner at Europa Village

When you arrive at Europa Village, stop by the marketplace inside Vienza, Europa’s Italian venue. The mercato is a gorgeous shop, brimming with Italian cookies, dried pasta, and other goodies to take home. Then, head upstairs to the tasting room to sample Europa’s Italian-style wines.

For dinner, dine on the outdoor patio at Bolero Restaurante in the Spanish section of Europa. The tapas selection is seasonal, filled with mouthwatering items like croquetas filled with braised short rib, manchego, and potato. Paella is a staple on the menu and there are usually several varieties to choose from.  Reservations on Open Table

Saturday Itinerary

Outdoor seating at Bouquet.

Breakfast at Bouquet inside Ponte Vineyard Inn

There’s no better way to start a day in wine country than an al fresco brunch with a vineyard view. Make a reservation for Bouquet at Ponte Vineyard Inn and enjoy a leisurely morning before you head out wine tasting for the day. There’s a little something for everyone on the menu from eggs Benedict, to pretty yogurt parfaits, to decadent stacks of French toast.

  • A table with a tasting menu and glasses.
  • A Masia de la Vinya glass on an outdoor table

Wine Tasting at Masia de la Vinya Winery

Set high up on a hill, Masia de la Vinya has a spectacular view overlooking the valley. Book the winery’s new Pours and Pairings private tasting, and enjoy delicious small bites, each perfectly paired with one of Masia’s Mediterranean wines. The bites are just enough to whet your appetite, but not too much to fill you up before lunch.

  • A dining room filled with wood tables and chair set with wine glasses.
  • A vineyard with a church on a hill.
  • A photo with a plate of caprese salad and chicken

Lunch at Leoness Cellars

When it’s time for lunch, step into the cheerful dining room at Leoness Cellars and browse the menu of award-winning entrees. Leoness sources ingredients locally, so menu items will vary from season to season, but there will always be farm fresh salads and heartier dishes like pistachio crusted diver scallops and rack of lamb. Reservations recommended.

A small, white Spanish style tasting room.

Wine Tasting at Lorenzi Estate

For lovers of great wine and food, a weekend isn’t complete without visiting the winery that we think makes some of the best wines in Temecula. Make a reservation at Lorenzi Estate, and end your day sipping French style wines on the patio at the edge of their vineyard.

(If three wineries is too much for one day, visit The Olive Plantation to try their award-winning olive oil instead.)

  • A dining room with marble top tables and a bar.
  • A plate with scallops in a broth.
  • A bowl with spring peas, carrots, and watermelon radish.
  • A plate of smoked duck with peanut sauce.

Dinner at Corbeaux Wine & Tea House

Corbeaux Wine and Tea House is a lovely restaurant in Old Town Temecula serving beautifully plated, French-Asian fusion cuisine. The a la carte menu is designed for sharing, but there is also a wonderful prix fixe menu with optional wine pairing. The restaurant is owned by a young winemaker, the chef comes from Michelin starred Orchard City Kitchen in San Jose, and they pour their heart into what they do. It shows in every delicious bite.
